THE EVENT

The Bendigo Olive Fiesta is an annual lifestyle event conducted at the Bendigo Pottery. It is a day for public participation, with attractions including food and wine stalls, live entertainment, various demonstrations and workshops. The next Fiesta will be held on Sunday 18th March 2012. We expect to attract in excess of 1,500 people on the day.

THE OPPORTUNITY

It is intended to make grants worth a total of 80% of funds raised at the 2012 event to a small number of community organisations. These will be chosen from respondents to this Expression of Interest.

THE PROCESS

Organisations wishing to be considered must submit the attached Application Form and make a presentation to the Rotary Clubs of Bendigo South and Bendigo-Strathdale Inc, if requested, to explain the organisation, its objectives and needs for funds.

CONDITIONS OF GRANT

All monies distributed by the Rotary Club of Bendigo South and Bendigo-Strathdale Inc, as a result of this application will be to support local projects, not administration, staffing, rent, utility bills or ancillary costs

Participating organisations will be asked to provide personnel to assist with the event. As a guide, it is anticipated that the commitment will consist of 48 hours of labour (6 people @ 8 hours) at the event on 18th March, 2012 and 8 hours prior to the event to assist with distribution of marketing materials.

Grants will only be made to organisations with a focus on supporting local community needs.

Consideration will be given to the level of existing organizational and
external funding agencies support already available.

Decisions on the actual amount of any Grant will be made by the Rotary Clubs of Bendigo South and Bendigo-Strathdale Inc when financial results of the 2012 event are finalised. Handover of funds will be at a Club function where your organisation will be given the opportunity to make a presentation covering your activities and application of the grant.
